Lara Bell and Roseann Rogers to Chair ‘Get in the Game for the Kids’

As ESCAPE Family Resource Center plans their 38th Annual Celebrity Serve Banquet, they have turned to two seasoned participants who have 22 years’ experience working with the event to be the co-chairs.  Lara Bell and Roseann Rogers are already hard at work creating an exciting evening for April 3.

“Get in the Game for the Kids,” will be held on Wednesday, April 3 at 6:30 p.m. in Union Station at Minute Maid Park.  The public is welcome to purchase tickets for this event that will help support the parenting programs provided by the educators at ESCAPE Family Resource Center.

Lara Bell, publisher of Swoon Memorial Magazine, has a background in TV production, communications, marketing, media, and publishing.  Lara serves as a board member for KidsMeals, and is active with The Children’s Museum, The Houston Ballet Guild, The Houston Polo Club, Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and the Junior League of Houston. She has served as chair of many local events including the UNICEF Gala and the Philanthropy Hall of Fame Gala in Galveston, and co-chair for World AIDS Day luncheon, Houston Ballet Ball Auction, and Children’s Museum of Houston Gingerbread Bash, among others.

“We have seen this event go from a small event at Benihana to a larger event at Tony’s Restaurant.  Now we are prepared to take it to an even larger and more fun event at Union Station,” said Bell.  “We have local sports and media celebrities who will be joining us to make this year’s event even more fun than before.”

Co-chair Roseann Rogers is remembered throughout Houston as “The Buzz Lady,” on radio and TV, but has been the Sales Manager of the Houston Division of Stewart Title for the past two years.  A big believer in giving back to the community, she is a founding board member of Dress for Success Houston, and is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Houston, where she serves on the Community Advisory Board.  She has been the successful chair of many galas in the Houston area, including American Cancer Society, Boys and Girls Harbor, The Children’s Museum of Houston, Catholic Charities and the Heart Center at Texas Children’s Hospital.

“I’m very excited to be joining Lara in hosting this event.  We have long been fans of the work of ESCAPE Family Resource Center, and to put our heads together to create a fun event has been so much fun,” Rogers said.  “I’m inviting all of my friends to come out and join us in supporting families who are at risk for child abuse and neglect.”

“When Lara and Roseann expressed interest in becoming the chairs of our event this year, we were elated!  Having worked on the event for nearly two dozen years, they know how it has worked and were anxious to help move it along as our former chairs retire from three decades of work.  One of the biggest changes is moving it from a Sunday night event to a Wednesday,” said Fritz Guthrie, CEO.
